In the relatively short period of time from 1903 to 1945 piston engines were successfully implemented in aviation.
Since 1950, when most aircraft engines were replaced by gas turbines, piston engine technology has undergone an intensive evolution. This evolution initiated the RED AIRCRAFT project to improve the overall efficiency and quality of ‘piston’ powered aircraft.


Based on high performance engine development experience and advanced technology, RED AIRCRAFT ‘purpose’ designed power units set new standards in terms of efficiency and fuel consumption. As a result of these activities, the RED A03 engine was introduced to the aviation world in 2010.

The radical new RED A03 safety design concept ensures the backup of different engine system elements and functions, thus increasing overall safety and reliability of the engine.

As a logical consequence of successful flight and test bench engine testing, RED AIRCRAFT has received Type Certification for the RED A03 in compliance with the certification requirements of the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) on 19.12.2014.
